Tariff Types
There are different ways that the energy companies can provide a green energy tariff. They are as follows:
Green Source
Some or all of the energy supplied to the mains is from a renewable source such as wind or hydroelectricity. The energy company can produce it themselves or purchase an equivalent amount on your behalf.
Green Energy Fund
A proportion of your money is spent on building more renewable sources or supporting green minded projects such as raising CO2 awareness in schools.
Carbon Offset
The supplier will offset the CO2 by planting trees or investing in CO2 reduction projects.
